School officer utilized Taser to wake resting understudy: police

SMITHVILLE, Ohio — Police in upper east Ohio have set a school asset officer on unpaid leave for initiating a Taser to awaken a resting understudy.

WEWS-television reports the episode happened Aug. 30 at Freedom Private academy in Smithville. Police say Officer Maryssa Boskoski was called to a classroom when a resting understudy wouldn't wake up for an instructor or central.

Smithville Police Boss Howard Funk says Boskoski expelled the cartridge from the Taser and "arced" it. Experts say the starting sound and commotion from alternate understudies woke the dozing understudy up.

No tests were conveyed and the high schooler wasn't harmed
