LIMA (Reuters) - The administration of Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra will begin banning Venezuelan vagrants from entering the nation except if they have travel papers, two government sources said on Thursday, following a comparable choice in neighboring Ecuador.
The sources, who talked on state of secrecy, said the measure means to control a flood in migration from emergency stricken Venezuela that has driven a huge number of urgent vagrants to Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Brazil
Ecuador and Peru currently enable Venezuelans to enter with just their national ID cards. That has been a noteworthy favorable position for Venezuelan vagrants, who battle to get travel papers in the midst of endless deficiencies.
One of the sources said a declaration in Peru would probably be made later on Thursday or on Friday.
