Canadian Women's Open: Brooke Henderson hopes to end 45-year pause

Brooke Henderson will begin Sunday's last round of the Canadian Women's Open expecting to end up the main home player to win the occasion in 45 years.

The 20-year-old has a one-shot lead after a two-under-standard 70 on Saturday, abandoning her 14 under standard.

Jocelyne Bourassa was the last Canadian to win the national title in 1973.

"It's a stunning achievement to be this far, yet I'm not done yet," Henderson said.

Japan's Nasa Hataoka and Angel Yin of the US sit one shot behind at Wascana Country Club in Regina, Saskatchewan, with world number one Park Sung-hyun of South Korea a further shot back.

"There resembles a million players inside like five shots, so I unquestionably need to play my best," Henderson included.

Britain's Bronte Law is among those inside five shots after a third progressive round of 69 remaining her nine under.
